An Indian kitchen can be anywhere in the world, Mine happens to be in Sheffield, however I grew up eating the same food that my ancestors have been eating for hundreds of years. My Family's home cooking is very different from a lot of the food that is served in most high street restaurants in the UK, our food is very simple, delicious and fresh. Real Indian home cooking is largely an unknown cuisine and its my love for what we Indians really eat at home is where this course originates from. My Grand parents' kitchen started in Gujarat which is the area north of Mumbai and South of Pakistan, with Rajasthan to the east and the Arabian Sea to the West.

If you love your local take away but wish it was healthier and fresher in taste, this hands on class is for you. You will not need to open another jar of curry paste again as you learn to cook very traditional delicious easy curries' that are made in the Indian home everyday. The 'curries' we will recreate (a term i will use loosely for dishes with sauce) will be very frugal and thrifty turning humble vegetables and store cupboard ingredients into a quick easy evening supper.

Wattana and Flower (pea and cauliflower curry)

Bombay Bataka (Tamarind Tomatoe and potato curry)

Masoor 'Dal' (Daily Dhal)

Kobi no Shaak (Simply spiced white cabbage)
